Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

Hi Everybody!

For about 2 weeks now I have been using Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and have absolutely been loving it, so I thought that I would write a review for you all!

I brought this foundation from Debenhams at the Estee Lauder counter. It cost me £27.50 but it was money well spent!

This foundation comes in a 30ml glass bottle. I have used it frequently and it still seems to be pretty full and because you don't need hardly any for a full face, I feel that this will last quite a while so it is good value for money. The foundation is liquid so it can be difficult to control the amount you are pouring out, but the positive is that if you do pour to much out it is very easy to put it back into the bottle, so not much gets wasted.

I got colour matched to the colour 'Ivory Nude' which is on the lighter end of the shade ranges they do. I was impressed by how many different shades they did have as some foundations may only have 4 or 5 so it is harder to get the correct colour. This foundation is without a doubt the correct colour for me and matches my skin perfectly which I am very pleased about as my main concerns about getting a new foundation is that it will be to dark as I am very pale.

This amount on my hand is probably how much I would use on my whole face. When I first used this foundation I felt like it wouldn't be very full coverage as it can be very runny (depending how much is on your hand), but once it is being applied to the face it is thicker. And I also didn't blend all of what is on my hand in the picture on the left into my hand on the picture on the right.

As I have said before, I have very blemished skin that is usually quite red, so I was very pleased with the coverage of this foundation. To blend in my foundation I used a buffing brush. I didn't use very much on my face in this picture (just dabbed the brush into the foundation on my hand in the picture above). I would say for me that this foundation gives me a full and flawless cover and since wearing it I have had a few compliments at how great my skin looks.
This foundation is very easy to apply and you don't need much at all as a little spreads a very long way. I was pleased that this foundation is in no way drying and also for me, it didn't look oily throughout the day(this foundation is great for combination skin!), it also doesn't feel thick and heavy on the skin and I also noticed that it doesn't come out on clothes and didn't come out on my phone when I was taking any calls. Every day that I have used it, it has always lasted me the whole day (I usually put it on at 8am and take it off around 9pm) and it always gives me a matte finish which I love.
Over the foundation I will usually put powder, contour, blusher, highlighter and sometimes  a setting spray.
I would highly recommend this to anybody who is looking for a full coverage foundation.

  2. Definitely a holy grail foundation product! Great coverage and haven't got that 'cakey' feeling so many people mention? Works beautifully with Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch primer underneath, would really recommend - http://pixie-petite.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/clarins-instant-smooth-perfecting-touch.html :) xx
